Orange-Ulster BOCES Proudly Honors GED Graduates from Middletown

On Wednesday, June 17th Orange-Ulster BOCES honored twenty-seven GED graduates from its Adult Education program. A ceremony was held for the GED recipients who received their high school diplomas before an audience of proud families and friends at its Middletown Campus of St. Joseph’s Church in Middletown.
City of Middletown Mayor Marlinda Duncanson spoke about the difficult economy and the necessity for having high school diploma in today’s job market. Other honored guests included Reverend Rafael and Reverend Dennis, Vicars of St. Joseph’s Church, Roy Paul, Middletown Enlarged City School District Board Member, Peg Kimple, Middletown Cares Coalition Coordinator, Carl P. Onken, Orange-Ulster Cooperative Board President, Marguerite Flood, Orange-Ulster BOCES Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources, Dr. Mary Ann Wilson, Orange-Ulster BOCES Assistant Superintendent for Instruction and June Franzel, Orange-Ulster BOCES Director of Adult Education.
GED recipient Rose D’Ambrosio was honored as Student of the Year. GED recipient Daniel Devine was awarded the College Preparatory Program Award, and students Shane Burris and Anibal Feliciano were recognized with Alternative Program Awards.
