Adult & Continuing Education General Information

Further information regarding BOCES programs may be obtained by calling the BOCES Office of Adult Educational Services in Middletown, (845) 781-6715 ext. 2, between 8 AM and 3 PM, Monday-Friday.

Refund Policy (Also See Special Fees)

  1. Prior to the first day of class 100% refund, minus $10 drop fee and non-refundable registration fee.
  2. Thereafter NO REFUND
  3. Refunds for checks and cash will take approximately 3-4 weeks.

No Children

Children may not accompany their parents to class.

 

Special Fees

  • Registration fee, other than online registration: $5.00
  • Change of program fee (for each "drop" of course): $10.00
  • Returned check fee: $25.00
  • Duplicate document fee: $5.00*

* Students who request duplicate receipts, transcripts or completion certificates are required to pay a $5.00 fee for each insurance. Please allow 2 weeks for request fulfillment. Records are kept for 6 years.

 

Discount Terms and Conditions

The 10% discount is contingent on remaining enrolled in three (3) or more classes. Dropping a class will nulify the discount and a $5.00 processing surcharge will be imposed.

 

Cost of Evening Courses and Books

Includes tuition and nonrefundable registration fee. Textbooks and supplies are not included in tuition costs. These additional fees are paid at time of registration. Instructor will distribute books in class. Classroom supplies may include such items as welding gloves, food for culinary classes and floral design materials. Many courses require approved eye protection devices. The course instructor will explain specific requirements.

 

Course Completion Certificate

Adult Education Services will award a completion certificate to students who successfully complete course requirements and maintain 80% attendance. Computer labs and courses less than 10 hours do not qualify for certificates. Print your name on the registration for as you wish it to appear on the certificate; later changes in spelling will result in a $5.00 fee.

 

Disclaimer

We retain our instructors to teach in their areas of expertise. In our opinion, there are no better instructors to be found. Our instructors are not permitted to use the classroom for personal gain nor to solicit client or customers. Therefore, we are not responsible for any advice or consulation given beyond classroom settings and course curriculum materials.

 

Course Cancellation

The offering of all courses is at the determination of the Orange-Ulster BOCES, which reserves the right to cancel courses at any time.

 

Prerequisite Requirements

Some courses have prerequisite requirements. A student planning to register for an advanced course without having taken the basic course(s) should first inquire at the BOCES Office of Adult Educational Services for advisement.

We do not assume any responsibility, real or imposed, for the loss of personal property or the injury of any student.
