About the Program:
The Film Production/Multi-Media program will provide students the opportunity to explore the exciting world of Communications and Film production, while participating in a variety of interesting hands-on activities designed to introduce them to this field.
Students will learn the tips and tricks of digital editing used by professionals. They will develop their technical skills from digitizing and trimming sequences to syncing video with audio elements, on either one of the two nonlinear editing systems used by industry professionals.
The students will learn to work as a team, as well as independently, while learning the industry skills necessary to be productive members of a video production team. They will also master audio editing and visual effects in professional industry standard programs, used in professional postproduction projects.
The students will learn to produce programs such as commercials, news broadcasts, promotional pieces, talk shows, and taping special events. Script writing, directing, lighting, editing, and visual effects are some of the things students will learn to do in the classroom studio and out in the field. These skills will be used in creating many projects, and thereby developing a personal portfolio for use in seeking college acceptance and/or employment.
