About the Program:Fresh Soph

The Freshman Academy offers students the opportunity to meet high school academic requirements using alternative approaches. This program features project-based instruction, allowing students to apply academic concepts in a real world setting. All instruction is designed to prepare students for the New York State assessments.

By enrolling in the Freshman Academy Program, 9th grade students are able to receive academic credit. Through a variety of hands-on projects, students become familiar with all CTEC offerings and experiences.

Students who successfully complete the program will be given an opportunity to apply for 10th grade admission to CTEC programs. Those students not assessed as ready for a CTEC program may continue in a Sophomore Academy experience.
