* This program is located at The Adult Learning Center on Dolson Avenue in Middletown. Therefore, students must provide their own transportation.

** This program meets 3 hours each day. Please consult with your Home School Counselor regarding scheduling. Second year tuition is the responsibility of the student.

About the Program:

During the two-year Practical Nursing program, students are provided the opportunity to learn, practice, and demonstrate the skills associated with nursing care. Students must achieve a 75% average in each unit of study in the Practical Nursing program in order to progress. Throughout the program, students will have the opportunity to engage in clinical experiences. Clinical sites include acute care facilities, extended care facilities, and physician’s offices within the community. Practical Nursing students must have 100% attendance (all time missed must be made up) to complete the minimum of 1104 hours during the program to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX).

In order for the student to progress into the second year of the Practical Nurse program, the student must:

  • Have successfully completed all of the required courses with a 75% average;
  • Have successfully completed the clinical component , which includes a one week clinical rotation in July of the first year.
