Orange-Ulster BOCES CTE Program Profile
The Orange-Ulster BOCES Career & Technical Education Center maintains a wide variety of data on its programs and students.
This profile includes:
Monthly Average Attendance – this is our rate of student attendance.
Retention Rate – the percentage of eligible students that return to a second year program.
Completion Rate – the percentage of eligible students that complete the second year of a program or a one-year program.
Industry Standard Assessments – the percentage of regular education and special education students that achieve success on an industry standard exam upon program completion. These students are eligible for a Technical Endorsement on their high school diploma.
Final Grade Distribution – this reflects the grade distribution obtained by our students.
Gender Distribution – the number of males and females that attend each year. Particular attention is paid to those students that enroll in programs non-traditional to their gender.
Graduate Survey – refers to the success rate of our graduates by state identified categories. Historically our graduates have obtained a 91 – 93% success rate directly out of high school. During the last two survey years we have begun to identify a trend showing an increase in post-secondary attendance rates. In contrast, our lower employment rates for students reflect NYS Department of Labor reports showing the highest unemployment rates in decades.
The Career and Technical Education Center maintains this data on a program by program basis and utilizes the results to develop program improvement strategies.
