SLS Electronic Resources

 

novelny NOVEL is New York's first statewide online virtual library. NOVEL is a collection of electronic databases that provide access from library, home, school, or office to thousands of full-text national and international newspapers and magazines, health and medical resources, business collections, Spanish language materials, and age-appropriate materials for youngsters. New York State residents can currently access NOVEL via their local public library, academic library or school library. New Yorkers can also access NOVEL using a borrower's card from the New York State Library (find out how to obtain a borrower's card), or via New York State Photo Driver License or Non-Driver ID card.

EBSCO databases from NOVEL and funded by a LSTA grant to the New York State Library. Includes:

  • Primary Search via Searchasaurus – reference materials for elementary to middle school users
  • Topic Search – a full text resource exploring social, political and economic issues, for middle school users and above.
  • Ebsco Animals- Provides in depth information on a variety of topics relating to animals .
