The satellite programs located in the Pine Bush Central School District are the least-restrictive class placements offered by the Special Education Program of the Orange-Ulster BOCES. Transitional in nature and located in four general education school environments, the primary focus of all classes is to provide the necessary instructional and related services to our students so that they may improve in academic, vocational and behavioral areas. It is the overall goal of the special education satellite in the Pine Bush Central School District to ensure a successful student return to the general education classes in their home districts.
Class Size and Student Offerings
Circleville Middle School: 8:1+1 Classes: The Circleville Middle School satellite serves students in grades 7 and 8. Students in this middle school environment benefit from small group instruction and additional support services. There are limited mainstreaming opportunities that enable them to work toward their goal of moving back into the general education setting.
Pakanasink Elementary School 8:1+1 Classes: The Pakanasink Elementary School satellite site serves students in grades K through 6. Students at this location benefit from small group instruction and the additional related services provided to them as prescribed on their Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
