Located in the Warwick Valley School District, BOCES operates six classes at the Sanfordville Elementary School. A major focus of the program includes integration within the regular education setting and collaboration with related services personnel in meeting the needs of the students

 

Class sizes and Student Offerings

9:1+3 and 6:1+2 Classes: These classes are designed for students ages five through twelve with developmental disabilities and/or emotional difficulties who require close supervision in most aspects of their day, due to their academic, management, social and/or physical needs.

Total Communication Class: This class, which has an 8:1+1 ratio, is available for students ages five through twelve who are hard of hearing or deaf. The emphasis of this class is on language development and academic skills. Opportunities for integration with hearing peers are provided. A sign language interpreter is on on-staff full-time.

Speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, vision services, counseling, physical education, art and music are provided. Collaboration with district teachers is encouraged and exists, where appropriate.
